Hope I havent put you off, the course is really enjoyable and pretty straight forward.

Not at all, I'm getting more excited the more that I look into it!

And yes the college do do the 'short courses' plus everyone else in my course will be wanting them so there will be a easy way to get them.

Will have a look for the books.

Thanks for all of the great responses! They have been a great help! Glad I found this site!

You might find it easier going if you do the Level 2 before you move onto the level 3, but that's your choice as it will increase the time your at college.

BUT, and I speak from experience, try not to get distracted, I allowed myself to get drawn to the bright lights and so I messed up my education the 1st time round, luckily for me things happened so I could go back years later and correct the mistake.

I know what your saying. Its how I saw it when I left school as well.

Forget work, as you get into college you will have a great time, meet great guys, and I dare say, once you get into the swing you may even hang out with the guys from college in the pub(once your 18, or can nick an older brothers ID)

College is still a place to learn, but also because they are a lot less formal than school, its a good place for friendships. I'm not saying you should take it easy and just hang out in the cafeteria, but you'll only have this time once, the next few years should be great for you, developing as a person is just as important as gaining job skills.

Being 31 and being in college isn't the same as being 16 and being in college(I feel so much older than the rest of the guys it is frightening), so get the most of it while you can and without looking like a peado.

Sorry about the lecture, I just dont want others to make the same mistakes I did.

Just hope your not in my class, calling yourself a peado and encouraging someone underage to drink! Tut, tut, tut.

Well because it is a specialist course most of us should have something in common, trees. I can hardly talk to my friends about trees now as I don't think the they would find it as interesting as me!

Hi Jack et al,

Guys I also need some guidance/help with choosing the right college/establishment in Arboriculture. The only difference is that I am a little older than most of you and I can not afford to waste any time. I turned 37 on Thursday 12 Sept.

If any of you could spare a few minutes talking to me on the phone I would be deeply grateful. You could find me in facebook quite easily as [email protected]

I look forward to hearing from you soon.
