We have several Combi units with the 4mix engines, and have had several of them seize after problems getting them to start, etc.

Eventually after spending a fair bit of money fixing them and chasing Stihl on an answer; we found out we should have been using Stihl's more expensive green two stroke oil in the fuel mix which nobody told us when we bought the machines

As a result we have now gone over to using the green oil for all our 2stroke equipment rather than mess about with a seperate fuel can for the 4mix engines. :001_rolleyes:

You still require 2 fuel cans as the mix's are different? 50:1 for saw and two stokes and 25:1 for the new 4s.. That what I was told by dealer.

Sorry I was so tired the other day I didnt get a chance to look at it after I first took a quick look until yesterday and I pulled it and it started!and sounded like its running ok so I used it for a short whilejust to have a listen and see if it sounded ok and if it was going to do it again and it didnt so now im confused so I have absolutely no idea what the heck happened the other day but it appears to be running ok.

Thanks for the advise about the green two stroke I did not know that and maybe its on its way to seizing or somthing I guess if its going to go it will go soon after what happened the other day I have not had a chance to check my e mails so not sure if the dealer responded yet but when they do I will ask them what to do but I will pop along and get some green two stroke for it. After the mention of what ratio the mix should be I just dug out the booklet off the shelf that came with it to double check as I scribbled the ratio on the plastic when I first had it in permanant marker and just wanted to check incase I had got it wrong this is what it says it recomends stihl moto mix but says its not widley available or to use only stihl two cycle engine oil 1:50 anyway got to get to work thanks for the advice everyone:thumbup1:
