My son started driving last year and he is with insurethebox. Premium came down from £3400 to £1700 on a 1.6 mk4 golf.

 

You decide how many miles you are going to drive in a year. If you go over that you buy extra miles but it gets expensive. You can earn bonus miles for good driving style and not driving at peak accident times, but there is no curfew.
