interplanting privet with box hedge??

Pleaches?? I have cut loads of huge privettes that have snapped and regrown with multiple upright stems it the same with budlia( I think) hedge Laying is something that I have NEVER seen up here .

 

Sorry for slight derail

 

Pleaches; the cut at the base. They send loads of shoots up but heavy frost on fresh cuts knocks them about.

Well it looks at though they are going to get rid of the whole thing completely and replant with a native mix now! Cheers for all the thoughts anyways! :thumbup: at least ive learnt summat for next time now :)
