It's not really a "mod" but a standard fix.

 

And all it does is change the carb to a less recent well known one, that if the op done a simple search of on here he would have found out. :thumbup1:

Yep Its just that Steve called the mod ! Is it to do with the pump piston ?

Yep. It removes the accelerator pump part of the carb and turns it into the older (and IMO mor reliable) 020 carb.

 

It's a fidly job and if you are not mechanically minded find someone to do it for you. It took me a long time to find out how it's actually done.

 

In my view the infix may or may not work as the carbs are fidly as are the saws. Easier to replace it than to spend the hours to try and fix it.

 

This of course is if its the pump that is the problem as these carbs can have a few problems that show all the symptoms of the carb problem..

i did a search on here first and didnt find all the answers i wanted,

i also didnt know if the saw had different makes of carbs fitted at any point which would have been an option for a replacement,
