phellinus ignarious? (on willow) not quite sure on the small, lighter coloured ones- young phellinus or something else?

 

I think me and david are going to have another member to our little clan before long!

 

The image of Phelinus ignirarius, think its second or third down is the best photographic example ive seen, taking into account the quality of the photo as well.

 

very, very nice images and i think we can safely say, welcome to our world, your a budding fungi enthusiast and i shall look forward to your future posts:thumbup1:

 

I think were going to have to keep an eye on this kiddo david!:biggrin:

What a spot david, good eyes, eyes likes awks!

 

How about my little chap from today then, new species, well sort of new, first quality image of it.

Quality find, what's it sitting on?

Well in this image on this log i am unsure of substrate, but there was another clump on a beech branch collar next to it, but not convinced this is also on beech. the habitat was a pure luck find too, a lake bed that is drying up as we speak. these logs must have been under water all winter and last two summers! classic wetland scenario for the species though.:001_smile:

I got eaten alive while i sat there trying to shoot this, as you can imagine in an old silty lake bed!:lol:
