arb show horses do this happen here in the uk

i,ve just been rooting on youtube and watched a few clips on working arb horses and as i,ve never been to a arb show i,am still very interested in the comments made on here on arbtalk but would love to know is the working horse making a come back to the uk

 

as i never met my grandad but seen a picture of his large shire horse called bob and was told stories that he use too use selling sticks firewood etc spending long hours on his plot and going out collecting anything to make a living etc

hope this link works anyway please enjoy watching as i,ve just done brings back lots of memorys of my grandad

Maybe not an Arb show(?). But I have seen them use horses at Bentley Wood Fair.

They seem to be a bit lighter on the ground than a lot of machinery.

I was interested as I had a keen Shetland that was broken to harness and was happy to pull...maybe not as much as the video. :-)

Looks like it was a pulling competition, and I'm guessing it was Austria, as they had some Noriker horses pulling.

I personally would'nt want to do this as it get's your horses fairly revved up! If you then take them into the wood to work you have got a real handful.

A good horse works carefully, listens to you, and gives you the power when you ask for it.
