Best hitch for DdRt>

What do people think is the best hitch to use for DdRT - that is two ropes static climbing - not dynamic. I see it in TCC but is that old school? It looks useful as you can then use the rope for regular DRT dynamic climbing. I tried a Blakes and Prussik but they seemed a bit too grippy

super copper mate is what i fine best

but depends what climbing line u have and friction cord u got

and hard climbing line soft cord

ent let me down and must say he was rite (cheers steve)

if u have a soft climbing line and soft friction cord like i had dont matter what vt,copper,knut or hitch u climb on it will bit hard and can make a easy climb hard work

so if we start with what climbing rope u have

i was climbing on Yale Imori and had Armor Prus Cord on a knut

steve b told me about soft v hard cord v rope

he told me to use Roblon or Liros no problem after that

For my main climbing hitch climbing Ddrt Im using an xt 10mm OP on 13mm arbormaster

My climbing rope is 13mm Marlow Gecko. How does that fit in the soft/hard theory?

 

With DdRT (as opposed to SRT) do you have to use fewer turns on hitches - for harness hitch and footloop?

srt rope wrench really want to be looking at the 11-12mm rope

that marlow rope with Liros should work well look at tree worker

buy 4 diffrent friction cords and have a play best bet

So the key is the hitch cord - not the knot?
