Jonsered 2035/2036 - Husky model?, and parts

Hey all.

 

Neighbour has got a dead Jonsered in the back of his shed, its been laying there for a few years. Iv seen it working/worked along side it a few times. Was talking to him a week or two past when i was sorting up a recent purchase and he said if i can sort it its mine to do what i want with....... From what he can remember, sounds to me like its either lost compression or has a fuel line/carb issue. Havnt got my hands on the saw yet and havnt seen it since before it was put away but its either a 2035 or 2036? - and possibly a turbo?

Having a look online i cant find much in the way of info for parts or anything to guage if its worth bothering with. Was also wondering is there a direct Husky equivelent and what model no. would it be?

 

Havnt owned a Husky for 10+ years and know squat-diddley about them or Jonsies so thanks for any info given.

Found alot of info/parts now. Complete cylinder kits seem pretty reasonable, if the saw needs a new one i might put the bigger 40cc kit in her for some more punch.....

They respond well to a muffler mod too

The most common failure on the 136 saw is that the little impulse hose perishes and splits. 5 minutes work to get to it behind the carb mounting plate and the part is around £4.00. Whole job takes less than 30 minutes.

 

Of course there could be other problems, especially as it has not been used, but defo worth checking this out first IMO.

Cheers GardenKit, will have a look at the other thread. My gut feeling when talking to him was itl just be one of the fuel lines. But without getting my hands on the saw to check for myself i wasnt sure. Thought i was best looking for piston/cylinder kits to see the prices, just incase. If it was going to be non-cost effective to sort id rather it was taking up space in his shed, as mine

have a 2040 turbo jonsered just the same as 2036 a nice little saw with a 14 inch bar on it

light and easy to use alot of parts same as husqvarna 141/136

be a nice saw to get going and keep for little jobs
