Newb on here but not to all the great gifts of saws. I bought an AM 272 unlimited coil for my 3120. Well after porting and adding a high side adjustment screw and went to take it out and for the life of me couldn't get it started. Well I got back in the shop and after much probing around, found that my coil lead was loose. Well it came right out. I know you can change the posts but never have my question would be, could this loose connection cause it not to spark under compression but spark a nice blue arch out of the cylinder?

Compression and or heat can cause spark issues. you need a certain amount of KV to jump a certain distance in air so a break in the HT lead may not stop a spark unless the break is a certain size.

The speed you pull a saw over and also the distance between the coil and flywheel can also make a difference!
