Flame Retardant Chainsaw Clothing

Most utility companies in NZ now require that you wear flame retardant gear when carrying out line clearance. I've had to wear it when working for Transfield and the Treescape boys always have to have the long sleeve shirts. It's hot and restrictive and I hate the stuff even if it does protect you in the case of a flash over.

We did some work in National Gid gas site and had to wear FR clothing - fine for top half but they insisted we wear FR long johns underneath our chainsaw trousers - nice . I said jokingly that if it blew up theyd be nothing left anyway to which they replied at least this way they would have a body to count!
