My yard is surrounded by by twelve acres of land used for growing hay, the bloke that rents it has got a tractor up there pumping raw sewage into the ground with some contraption on the back of the tractor.

 

He reckons the nitrogen makes the hay grow faster and he's got all the paperwork from the EA to say it's okay and above board.

 

I aint very happy about it. Is it legal?

Is it umbilical injection of the sewage straight beneath the surface, if so then so far as I'm aware it's perfectly legal, in fact there is a big push to do this as much as possible. In fact we have a specialist company about a mile away that manufactures and operates this very kit. Better than flinging it up into the air and all over the place IMO.

Im sure it should be treated biosolids or treated sludge ie without paper and all that toher "items" that get flushed !

 

Just be thankfull its not paper sludge that honks beyond belief !
