burning 101 year old oak roof sections some 6x3 inches and 9x1 roof boards all fair condition .thought they would be a very low mc but all is 20%. but they do burn nice.so can oak be any drier in log form

I have a dead oak which has seasoned standing and that reads 14% on moisture meter

Just stuck the moisture meter into the oak beam in our lounge, it was put there in 1691, got 2%.
