So what do you do when your laptop naps it during an economic downturn? Power connector plug snapped off and retreated into the casing.

 

Computer tech estimates £150.00 to fix it. Its 5 years old and beginning to show its age and a new one is only a couple of hundred more!

 

Over to our friend ebay and sourced a new power connector in the States for 12 quid.

 

A bit of dismantling, a bit of soldering and a quick re assembly later we are back in business.

Thanks, I am feeling quite pleased with myself, saving the hassle of migrating settings, a tub of money and the old laptop is not yet landfill fodder.
