Due to continued expansion we are looking to recruit an FMOC qualified tractor driver. Work to include forwarding, ground flail, hedge flail, fencing and crane fed chipping.

Based in East Sussex but working throughout the South East on a variety of contracts.

Houlbec Forestry are a rapidly expanding Infrastructure Vegetation Management Company. We are AAAC and equal opportunity employers.

What's FMOC excuse my ignorance by the way.

Forest Machine Operator Certificate.

It's the NPTC scheme for forest machines. Chainsaw ones start CS the forest machine ones start FMO. There' lots of them too.

Oh ok. Will look into them. I did get the tractor operators ones from college but that agriculture. Not sure they cover forestry.

I have both FMO tractor and MO1 tractor. They're very similar just a bit more stuff in the FMO one.

which FMO covers the use of a tractor roof mounted crane to load a timber trailer ?

You'll need wheeled rigid base unit which is FMO 1.3 and roof mounted crane is FMO 3.4 i think. It doesn't really matter as if you do your timber trailer test with a roof crane/jake plate crane or a bunk mounted crane as you get all 3 on your certificate now.

Ok. I've got the mo up to 16. Seemed a good idea at the time and as they were free I couldn't turn them down. But never actually used them since.

The FMOC base unit is the main criteria. We have won works to undertake forestry ride mowing for the FC and this is a stipulation. Utility training to work on National Grid contracts will be provided for the right applicant. We are just in the process of adding a valtra T171 alongside our 8150 with Botex Crane.
