There will be due process, just because they are soldiers (by their own choice) does not mean they can do as they like. Count me out of any march.

You are correct, there will be due process. Whilst I wouldn't condone any actions carried out above and beyond the Rules of Engagement, You nor I know exactly what happened - to that end I think until the investigation is complete, it is a little harsh to imply that our Armed Forces "do as they like".

They are Soldiers/Marines, as you rightly said "by their own choice". But that does not make them robots. Some of these lads (as young as eighteen) are on there first tour of duty, some are experienced. But the fact is that in the Patrol Bases they are shot at daily. When they go out on patrol they know that every step could be their last due to victim operated Improvised Explosive Devices. There is a high chance they will witness the death/life changing injury of a comrade during their six month tour. Above and beyond this they are fighting an enemy that cant be seen - they look and dress as the local nationals do.

This would not excuse anyone taking the law into their own hands - but would it serve to show the pressure these lads endure everyday?

I appreciate your view that they signed up to this - but no one knows exactly how they will react to these situations until they are in the thick of it themselves.

Please dont judge - and if you do try and put yourself in the position of a Soldier/Marine in Helmand Province.
