Hi

Im new to this site so please forgive me if i ask any silly questions.

I bought a Stihl MS192T chainsaw in France 6 years ago and it worked fine until a few months ago, a friend of mine took it apart and says the only thing that he thinks could be wrong with it is the carburetor.

Where can i buy a carburetor, as Stihl tells me that these are not for sale in this country, and before you say it i am not phoning France as my French is quite limitted.

Cheers for any help.

Hi

It would start but as soon as you hit the revs it would cut out, my mate stripped it down and cleaned it, all in good working order, the bulb was sucking in fuel and he also cleaned the fuel line with compressed air. His mate who works at ARCO a local gardening and Stihl retailer was baffled. They came to the conclusion that it was the carburetor.

I now cant even get it to start. This is the "t" version with the top handle.

Cheers

You CAN get parts from your dealer!

If they argue, just ask them for parts for a MS192. It is a current saw and only difference to the "t" is the handles set up.

If they still wont play ball, let me know and I'll give you the oem part numbers. You can then just give them the part numbers and they will order them, even the handle parts.

Hi All

Thanks for all your messages, i will have a try at getting the number on the carb, cos when i did phone Stihl the man seemed adament that the carb would be different, as it sounded like he was at the computer checking data???

Cheers again

Sorry to confuse you Swampy, but according to the Stihl Mediacat dealer system there are are possible 5 carbs for the 192T

All Zama C1Q, but types S125, S103 (replaced by S134), and S104 (replaced by S135).

These type numbers are etched into the carb. With these numbers it will be possible to identify both the original Stihl part number and price/availability, or a genuine Zama carb from a Zama dealer.

The genuine Zama carb, if available, will likely be around 2/3 the cost of one in a Stihl box.

Following a little more in depth deciphering, the 104 carb or s135, was only on the japanese market saws. Those had part No. 1137 120 0602

All other saws had the 125 or 103 carb, replaced by the s134. These three carbs share the 1137 120 0600 part number I mentioned earlier, but will all interchange, so this is the part number you require, unless it was a Japanese machine. More than likely the C1Q-S134 you would end up with, but it will fit even if it was one of the earlier saws.
