Forestry Distance Learning..

I'm looking at some of the forestry courses at Bangor University..they offer modular courses which could lead to Postgrad cert or diploma or MSc.

Has anyone any experience of these?

What sort of job prospects are there? Or, is there any demand for such a qualification? I know that some subjects ( eg Environmental Conservation) seem to churn out graduates, but the job opportunities are limited.

Thanks for any replies.

as we all know graduates are two a penny, but degrees are still a benchmark of learning. Newton Rigg / Lancaster Uni. do a Forestry degree that is distance learning with some block class time. It was aimed at those with OND/HND wod wanted to upgrade. I know one guy who did it.

I did the Forestry degree at Bangor (undergrad). If you have any specific questions drop us a message. I graduated 2 years ago.

Work wise, the whole industry is very depressed atm across the British Isles so if you have any/lots of previous experience if you did the course, job prospects would be much better.

I now work for the Irish Forestry Service (Coillte Teo).

P.S. loved Bangor!
