I have about 100 tree's grown from seeds planted last autumn, beech/oak/sycamore. Now how long should i grow them on for before I plant them out in the field to make a new area of coppice and stand alone tree's?

Probably worth lifting them and trimming roots after leaf fall to initiate fibrous root system then replant with more space if needed. Then same next year. Replant the following year in final positions.

 

Or plant in final position now with vermin protection and water and keep weed free next season. Also start a few more seeds for replacements this autumn maybe. This is a good way if you keep up the aftercare. If you plant early after leaf fall they will grow new roots this year before the start of 2013.

Thanks for that! Will prob do it this winter and replant some more this autumn so I've got some ready for next year!
