i was hoping for it to be cheaper if i split the wood myself, and gives me something to do

 

I can understand where you are coming from. But as someone who sells logs there is not alot in the job especially if you dont carry it through to the end. What will take you a morning will take a log man 3/4 hr. As said best to go for a split load of logs.

i have found wood for this year,

i now need hardwood cordwood, to cut & Split myself

 

so if you can supply hardwood cordwood, about 3 tons, including delivery to slapton devon, or i could collect if within about 15 miles

I am sure I knew someone down there if it comes back to me will let you know. Have you tried the firewood directory and ask on their especially tree surgeons. A couple of transit loads may be ideal for you.
