mornin all, recently bought a stihl 200t, changed a few bits on it already, new worm gear,clutch springs, chain sprocket, needle bearing, bar cover, an new air filter. i cant seem to get it to run right, wen i bought it, it didnt idle very wel so uped the idle on the carb and is better but now everytime i use it i start it on choke as normal n as soon as i touch the throttle it dies. and then i cant seem to get it runnin agen its really drivin me mad atm.

 

any help on this problem would be very helpful :-)

the piston pump goes on these,an easy fix by bypassing it,but also carb manifold(rubber) could be split / not fitted right,tank vent & other pipework blocked /split.

If you are good with spanners dismantle check/replace all rubber carb & ancillary parts,give the motor a compression test,give it fresh fuel,set the carb to its standard settings & go from there.

Also make sure the exhaust is not carboned up.

That should keep you busy! or get hold of Spudulike on here,or Gardenkit,& have them do it for you,if you are not familiar with the 200t workings,this might prove your best option.

thanks geoff i will try takin the carb off and replacin the rubber seals and see how i get on, quite handy with the spanners myself and im up for a challenge lol where is the pump located??
