I think an act of desperation to try to get them to allow her to get the trees felled

But according too your first post the trees were not TPO'd till she contacted them :confused1: (as below)

So.........my clients got in touch with he council (by the way this is 2 years ago!!!) and asked if bearing in mind what the Highways have said if they can fell the trees.

The council said NO and slapped TPO's on them!!!!!!!!

So why did she call them? as the land owner she would have know wether of not they were TPO'd, so I can't understand why she tipped them off that she planned to fell them. :confused1:

Don't forget this has been going on for 2 years and I guess that she has said about the re-planting after the TPO were put in place. And the trees weren't protected until she went to them to ask to fell them because of the letter she had recieved from the highways. As regards to knowing because she's the land owner you're right but I guess she was just making the council aware of her intent. I doubt if she'll be doing that again in the future!!!!!!!!!!!! A real tricky one me thinks. Sorry for the confusion but that's the story as I know it.
