Make your own shave horse course, cumbria, this weekend!

Recommended Posts

We still a couple of places left on our shave horse course this weekend 28/29th July

This is an essential bit of kit for any green woodworker, and an excellent way to learn green woodworking basics.

We will teach you how to cleave and shape the wood using only hand tools and turn wood using a traditional pole lathe.

based at Haybridge Nature reserve near Bouth in the South Lakes, camping is available in the woods (inclusive of price) and facilities available in the study centre. Haybridge is a stunning nature reserve with an abundance of wildlife, so come and enjoy a weekend in the woods, sit round the camp fire in the evening and go home with your very own shave horse!

Taught by Tony Saunders and Vicky Naylor both experienced green woodworkers

£160

please contact me for more information or to book a place

I kinda agree there.... a weekend with instruction etc plus equipment is pretty good for the price. I use a lot of green-wood stuff and its not always the most streighforward thing to make, havign somebody show you the ropes is always handy

free plans are also a bonus and i have made copies of them :)

Just wondering what method you use to drill the treadle frame mortises so they're all in the same plane? I've made a jig for mine. I ask because I make one or two of these a week to order and auction on ebay.
