Hi all just a quick question regarding payments.

I was contacted by edf to clear a way to a electric box but trying to sort out a method of payment with them the only way they could do it was by credit card. I'm a small business and have no set up for this kind of payment and just wondered if its done by electric machine or a number via your bank???

Thanks

Tony

Do you mean you are being contracted by EDF to carry out works and they want to pay you using a credit card?

Or they want you to pay them using a credit card?

We have a credit/debit card facility to take payments and a company credit card to make them. Large companies typically pay by BACS into your bank account or by cheque.

I lost the job because of it and just asking to see if other people on here had tat means of receiving money

no im not 100% sure if it was who they said they were.I spoke to 2 different people both claiming they were from there in 2 separate phone calls,i was given the address of where the job was which was just round the corner from me and the other call was supposedly from a manager who even offered to try payment via my electric key but then said they couldnt do that either it had to be card!! Luckily i gave no details as i am always cautious of doing that anyway. Thanks for your help though :-)

That sounds particularly iffy, I'd be on the blower to edf. Did they contact you originally?
