Pollarding (covered in section 7.10) is fine. Whether creating a new pollard, or re-pollarding you can do it, lapsed pollards however may be better treated with crown reduction. It's down to you to apply for what you think is most suitable...:thumbup:

Yep, I think it has just as valid a place in urban as it does in rural locations. What with Victorian lime avenues, and city planes etc. Also a good alternative (continuity and creation of biodiverse habitats etc) to smaller species of street trees, as you can have your easily pollarded, 'small' tree, atop a clear bole to allow passage of people and vehicles :thumbup:
