Holiday/work

Hi all, i am currently thinking about going out to the US somewhere for a wee holiday as iv never been before. I thought id go now when work is pretty much non existant here at the moment but i really want to try and get some work out there. I have no idea on how to go about getting work etc. Is there an american version of "arbtalk"? Or is there anyone from the US on here that can help.

Don't want to rain on your parade Paul, but to work officially in the States you need a green card. For any unofficial off the books type work they already have millions of illegals from Central America.

 

The American economy is in as parlous state as ours and the rest of Europe's unfortunately. There was another thread on here about lack of work opportunities in USA a few weeks back.

Perhaps i worded it wrong. What i meant was i was wanting to go over for a holiday anyway but if i could get a placement i would apply for a H1B working visa. That way i could stay for longer and earn a few pennies legally.

dunno if this helps but what i done last year was worked in california for 10 months as a climber, how i got the job was i phoned a hell of a lot of tree companys out there and finally got some good refrences together and got a trial , h1b is what i worked on ,
