what would a running 262xp set me back? also a non running 254xp with low compression? anyone got them on here could always do with a couple more :biggrin:

I paid about £70 for a non-running/no-compression 254xp a couple of months ago. New piston and regular crap fixed it, but be aware that cylinders for 254s are bonkers expensive.

ahh never knew that! i'm doing some work for someone and they offered me a saw to use and i said i would buy it off them and it is a running 262xp just wondered what i should offer him. ive also been after a 254 for a while now!

Well i didnt get the 254xp but i did get a 154 :001_rolleyes: what are these like i just want something to go with the 262xp :thumbup:

Forerunner to the 254XP, very similar and believe share many parts - had one in a year or two ago and it looked and felt the same - i think th eearly ones had the metal chainbrake handle and the latter ones were plastic.

Mines got the metal handle although i think ive got a plastic replacement side cover in the shed..... i probably over paid for it but of the video i watched on youtube i like the sound of it! shame i wont be able to hear it with my husky muffs on!
