Does anyone have one. I fancy one for the valmet. I wreckon it would be awesome. The dealer up here sent me all the glossy brochures with prices, but never got back to me. I heard the forestery commision wales had one.

Ask Buzz on here, he has one on a forwarder. Personally, I much prefer an american shear on an excavator...

Thanks for that, will do. I would love a big one on a skid steer, but no chance of that. Maybe one day.

Yes, the likes of Dymax shears are much better than little felling and accumulating heads IMO.

I was at the Dymax stand at the apf, i wreckon a 16inch shear adapted for the valmet would be good, Just stick a hydraulic top link on and off you go, especially with the roofmount. Mine is the 8950, so there is plenty of weight there. It was just under 10k so i would need the perfect job to pay for it. what are your thoughts?

I reckon it would be a nightmare to work on the back of a tractor. You would be far better hiring a decent excavator for the duration of the job.

Definately, that would be the tool for the job. All advice taken. I just love playing in the tractor.

Ditto to what Ed said, i wouldn't even attempt it on the Valmet.

 

Did you speak to Gareth about them ?

not sure what his name was but he owned a t190. He gave me a funny look when i suggested it. helpfull guy though. As was everyonebecause it was about 25 degrees.
