Hand Arm Vibration, H and S Risk Assessments

Chaps, wonderingif anyone can help me here: if my intended regular equipment use puts me in the yellow zone on the HSE ready reckoner, then have I got this right that the actions needed are: regular breaks, keep upper body warm, monitor for side effects. Is that it, nothing else?

Also 2nd question, what is the official meaning of "regular use" for HAV such that is a risk that needs a mitigation plan? For example does once week use for a day over years of work mean that HAV is not a work risk?

Cheers

I was talking to a guy the other day and his firm (25 members of staff) has made the guys sign a form saying that it was unpractical for the firm to monitor HAV risks and basically they werent interested.

How do the big employers go about recording / managing HAV ?

That guy with 25 staff should know better.

There is a requirement to monitor but I guess reasonable practicable comes into play.

On the same subject- does anyone know of any anti vibration gloves that actually work for the fingers not the palms. The ones I find are designed for jack hammers not hedge cutters.
