shot gun licence

Mines up soon but don't think I will be renewing it. Don't seem to find the time anymore.

I Would just renew it as it's easy to give it up but harder and more expensive to re apply and buy a new gun. My 12 bore hasn't been used for nearly a year but I've still kept hold of it for when I can find time to have a crack at the doo's

Yes, he will want to suss you out,

ask you a few basic safety questions etc,

make sure gun cabinet is bolted to the wall correctly,

it may be worth while getting a seperate cabinet for cartidges/bullets,

if its firearms your applying for then you will need written consent from atleast two land owners with what quarry you will be shooting ( rabbits, foxes deer etc )

if your going for deer you will ned a minuimum calibre of .243

they also like a seperate alarm in the gun room!!:thumbup1:

£50 . 00 for 5 years get your ticket then happy shooting!!:001_cool:

all the best.

They asked me about my drinking habits, do I get leery or fall asleep after drinking. I asked why he asked, police are conceded that at house parties a lot of shotgun owners either show off there guns or fall asleep after drinking giving others unauthorised access to gun cabinet. I said it wasn't a problem as all my mates bring there own shooters! They asked if the misses was aggressive and would she have access again I simply said she wouldn't have access to the keys.

They asked about experience etc.

Be confident and not cocky say your considering joining a gun club. Just don't say you want a semi auto with a seven cartridge mag on it!

And don't dress like this

ive never had problems with my renewals apart from when they decided that my .375h&h magnum was too big for deer.Funny when they passed it first time.

You can shoot Muntjac and CWD with a center fire .22 (England) Roe in Scotland with a minimum grain bullet. .240 with 1700fLb of energy otherwise.

You do not need a separate alarm in the gun room. Depending on how many firearms you hold 8-10 then he may insist on a house alarm.

.375H&H may be accepted by some constabularies but not others! Perhaps you should look at the home office guidelines and give your FLO an ear bashing!
