Bit of a random one this. Im just writing out party invitations for my little girls party and she wants to invite a polish boy in her class...his name sounds like 'shmack' and I have absolutely no idea how to spell it. Hoping perhaps theres a polish member whose familiar with the name

I think I know the name. It sounds like p-she-mek. Say it fast and it will sound more authentic. The 'p' part is very subtle, the e in 'she' and 'mek' is more like 'eh'.

I have some Polish friends with a relative with this name. Not sure how it's spelt properly

Just got the verdic, the spelling is Przemek and lancstree is correct on the pronunciation.

Ah thats thrown a spanner in the pipework then. Just got from another friend that it may be the polish for simon, and spelt Szymek

It could be, however my source is Frist generation here in the USA and still has family in Poland. I am sure the name will be sorted out and the little boy will be flattered that someone else actually took the time to correctly get his name right:thumbup1:

Well you were close. Managed to get hold of one of the school mums. Apparently the school spell is Przemek but his mum spells it Przmelo
