Found 2m up on over mature lime tree, limb had fallen off beneath it, may be a connection there, not sure. Size is about size of a fist and looks a bit like a sponge. Sparrisus crispa sprung to mid but they grow off roots and on conifers I think. Another sparrissis perhaps?

No, and too much desicated to even be sure it is of fungal origin.
