A Big Thank You For All The People Involved With The Capel Manor Show

Hey everyone, Charlie Phelan here, would just like to say a really big thank-you to all the judges and sponsors for the Capel Manor competition.

In September I was working as a full time chef and magician. Okay the magic was really good fun but I had been working in fine dining for 6 years and finding it hard to escape from the kitchen..... I then by a stroke of luck met a man, Gavin Nevett , who managed to blag me onto the Level 3 Forestry and Arb at plumpton college. Since starting the course I have never been happier.... I am still working all hours under the sun in the kitchen to be able to afford my full time course as a mature student, as I don't really have any contacts in the industry, but its worth every minute slaving over stoves.

We went to Capel manor expecting to have a great time competing and browsing all the merchandise we cant afford but in reality we took home a great deal more.

The whole experience was a massive success, the judges were amazing, helping understand the best route to take on the challenge, the different hitches that can be used to develop your skills as a better worker in the tree and saving your body from strains that you can develop.

Nick Pott for his advise and invitation to the competition in the first place and all the new equipment we were introduced to... Thank you

Most of all the sponsors who with out the whole experience wouldn't have existed.

I can honestly say it was a massive learning experience and too walk away with 1st place in the team event was just the icing on top.

Cheers guys......... over and out!

Yeah, Capel for me was short but sweet...just enough time to catch up with people and be around like minded folk. I see Hamadyad that you are re vamped in a marvelous photo, and using your name which i reckon is a good idea,as i was hoping to bump into you after reading your posts and more recently the you tube snippets you have made are excellent. But all you have is an Avatar and a pseudonym...so anyway Tony, pleased to meet you i,m Paul.
