Our cherry's are still full of blossom up in the North (Newcastle)

Are these recent photos or from a while ago? Our are all in blossom and im leaving the ones I have to prune until late summer / early autumn

Nice shape, but with no leaves is a bit early in the year for cherry. Stone fruit (cherries, plums etc.) are best pruned between the start of blossom and the end of August - otherwise you run the risk of silverleaf infection.

They where done a month ago. They should have never been done till summer as u all know prunus family should only be done then. This is a council tree and we sub contracted to them. We explained this could make it vulnerable to silver leaf ect but they insisted it had to be done.

We'll forgive you then lol, we all know councils seem to be a law to themselves when it comes to tree work, often wonder if they think BS3998 only refers to trees in private gardens subject to tpo or conservation area. Plus your cherry tree probably had more to do with getting it in last years budget. Gripe over lol
