Getting to grips with my Spiderjack

Packed my Climbing kit onto my Bike and went into the woods to Try my Spiderjack for the first time..All my work is done with a prussick ,rope and friction saver...i just need to move into the more Dynamic climbing mechanical aids offer..Throwlined into a branch not to high up installed the friction saver and spent a few hours getting used to this new system, concentrating on Ascent using a Pantin....It is so well engineered.after about 6 foot from the ground the rope slips through the spiderjack and the grab is smooth whenever you stop.i will use a micro pulley on the saver next time and as i progress and i,ll get the ART Ropeguide..But this first time i need to understand how it works, feels and it,s performance.Going up with the Pantin is effortless. From the top i practised smooth descents with some swings and "Touch Downs"...it,s just so cool to be able to do all these things, all with finger and thumb control of the Spiderjack..But where this Device comes into it,s own is when you squeeze the Trigger especially with the thin 11.7 mm Blue tongue i was using...the rope straightens and Gravity takes over...you just....DROP! the rope doesn,t even touch the sides...it,s Fast like free fall...but i soon learned to use the trigger and wooden brake together...Total Control....To recap..it,s like learning another language but definately the way forward...

Forgot i had them on..i don,t climb or cut with gloves, put em on to take the edge of the chill in the air yesterday..S.J feels better with them off because you can use more delicate pressure...fine tuning..the rope is so thin bare hands is easier to grip with
