Nice, did you put something in the core of the big eye?

 

Yes mate,5mm wire with a plastic coating on it. Get it at b+q works a treat.

Majestic-yeah no worries should hopefully have them by early next week.

just thought i would share these, i no it aint perfect gonna wip it later not bad for first attempt i thought gonna get some more yalex loving the stuff, then i might give real spicing ago.....:001_huh:.....:001_rolleyes::lol:

Just looked at your Yalex onto a pinto. One looks like a locking brummel the other looks like a brummel. I understand you can only do a locking on one but i'd not climb on a normal brummel in that application.

 

Not sure about other people. I'm happy to be told it's safe to do so but just wanted to give you a bit of a heads up.

yes its safe, and it is the only way it can be done when doing this splice to a piece of hardware.

 

it has to be done like this when cable bracing so if you trust your bracing brummels on peoples property then you should trust it yourself?

 

the whipping secures it when not loaded and splice wound never come undone when loaded . the bury at the end is like a normal splice it would take a hell of alot to pull that out before the loop was to be in danger of opening....

Yea very true mate. How long do you make your bury on the brummel?

 

I think it's just psychological with me, I like my pinto's on a double braid.

90mm i think mate, one might be slightly of. 10x the rope diameter as a guide though...? all new to me so still learning:biggrin:
