I am going to non eom labelled parts but manufactured by mahle, the saw has its original cylinder and has the manufacturers stamp, which co-incidentally is Mahle :001_smile:

Mahle non OEM parts - you sure they are:confused1: I would think Husqvarna would stop any third party manufacturer & Husqvarna supplier copying OEM parts!

Where are you getting the kit from?

Spud there are lots of none oem parts for all sorts on the market which come from the same supplier as oem . They are just packaged differently

I know that many OEM manufacturers won't manufacture items such as bolts, bearings, seals etc and just stick their own part number on a third party manufactured part but have never seen Mahle cylinders or pistons available - only Meteor, Episan or Chinese.

Have you any links?

Your right spud, i apologise, I've just been back to look and the reference to Mahle was saying that the nikisil coating on the cylinder was introduced by Mahle, I read it as the cylinder was

Mahle

Thought so - I couldn't see Husqvarna allowing a supplier to manufacture OEM parts and sell them as non OEM - just not commercially acceptable.

I have seen the Nikasil ebay listing you mention, unfortunately Joe Public are not going to be able to tell the difference between Chrome and Nikasil.

Hey folks was at the local garden mechanics on Friday afternoon ordering up some lawnmower cables, having a nosey through the scrap pile and found a 365 special with a knackered piston and barrel, Also missing the exhaust, petrol cap, and a couple of av mounts. However the saw looked like it had seen very little use, not a scratch on the plastics, good clutch, sprocket, chainbrake and starter. Gave the guy £20 for it as thought it would make a good repair project and I need a backup mid range saw for the 560. Was thinking of just sourcing an original 365 piston and barrel but now I've discovered this thread its got me thinking of going for a 372 top end and modded muffler. Is it a straight swop or more to it?
