Hi all new to this site I was thinking about taking my cs30/31 this year as i use a chainsaw at home but would like to be taught properley,Then hope to take my cs 36/39

Then want to progress to climbing as this appeals to me have done some climbing rescue work in the past if this would help as hoping to get into this trade ,is my age against me 41 ?still strong an fit and dont mind hard graft im from midlands, where would be my nearest course or contacts be or quickest way to get started ..much appreciated.....fuda

It's an extremely hard trade to get into now, too many arborists not enough trees. Cs 30/31 and 38 are the basic tickets that will make you employable to start out. If your fit then age isn't an issue, just be prepared to ache 24/7

If you have a passion for tree work you will stand out , there are loads of wonna bees out there make sure your not one of them

im 48 and still climb - but ive been climbing for 25yrs - dont do it every day - it would kill me- it will take you alot of time and experience to get really good -

 

If you have got your heart set on it,go for it but if I were you I wouldnt take on really big trees - what you dont want is a hernia -
