Thanks for all the advise and tips. I placed the spring in the housing and fitted it slowly around the housing, wrong way first time, then the correct way second time. The inner part of the spring was a bit bent, so had to re curve it, so the Rope rotor would catch the spring. Finger tips a bit sensitive. Will get wife to moisturise them now. Thanks again for all the help.

I use a patented spring rewinding tool designed for the job. Takes 5 seconds, does it right first time and without the hazard of the spring popping out dangerously.

 

I ordered one, for my next mishap...:thumbup1:
