only really posted this to bump up the views on it. :001_smile:

Just a lad who does a few days a week with us. He's helped us out on and off for 2 yrs now and is never going to leave the floor really but this was a chance to see what it's like for the climber. Put the rope up for him and there was one piece of deadwood about 50ft up to cut off. Sadly he didn't get as high as we planned.

A different point of view for him though, and he's a good lad with his heart in the right place. He's had other goes since this and done better.

Thats the boss in the background supplying the moral support.:001_tongue:

Good Vid Andy!

We had a lad come and help us out last summer, I did the same....threw a rope up a nice Oak so he could have a go (potentially a life changing experience, start of a new career etc...) He couldn't even get his feet off the ground!!

Still smoking those roll-ups I see.....

......I stopped 8 days ago :001_tongue:

well spotted, everyone knows what it's like when they have no strength left...well he kept trying for 25mins after that point before giving up...and we let him know that was a good quality. He was weak as anything when he first cam to us, but he is a lot fitter and stronger now....still a tad portly though.. :)

When i first started climbing at college, i was s**t scared, getting about 1/3 to 1/2 way up 60-70ft oaks before getting disco legs, now im much much better.

So well done to him for trying.

Good on him for trying and getting stuck in. I'm not expert on technique but if he gives it another go he may find it easier keeping his legs higher up the trunk.

Feel his pain of heights though, I'm with Nick, just on the verge of getting over mine.
