Scumbag protestor at the boat race

Hello,

My brother went to Brasenose college Oxford in the '70s

Our daughter went to Christ Church Oxford, she & most of her peers, were funded by hard working, proud parents who gave up foreign holidays, new cars, new kitchens, etc to fund their education. She represented her college in the rowing team and worked unbelievably hard to graduate. So did our son at Plymouth.

There is nothing elitist about our family - any casual observer may probably think the opposite. The boat race is an event we all follow with interest & passion for many a year, it is after all the start of summer (well almost).

It saddens me that someone decides to protest in such a manner as I consider their futile gesture well off the mark & hope they get locked up.

But, if it was up to me I wouldn't have stopped the race.
