I find the Krpan fine, 17 tonne with a winch, prob really only needed a 13 or 14 tonner but for the extra £200 ood for the extra capacity it was a no-brainer.

I note the Krpan engineers are cunning blokes, the cumbersome left hand lever is spring loaded, my bare fingertips accidently removed the spring......Voila...... a wonderfully responsive one handed machine.

I do not employ anyone so as far as I am aware I am OK.

Plus since the single handed right hand operation is reasonably spring loaded to ret to neutral and instantly stop pushing one would need to be pretty stupid to amputate any more than perhaps a finger tip, and even that would take an inordinate degree of stupidity or tiredness.

that said I did bash my knuckles offen the splitter wedge positioning a trifle overlong log.

The wedge is bloody sharp.

The wee PTO bicycle chain driven winch at only £400 odd is also well worth it to me with my knackered back = Sciatia.

A straight back at all times is virtually possible..

And since I opted for the PTO driven self contained hydraulic pump, the old DB1490 drives her lovely at just about a fast tickover = 1000 engine rpm on the 540 shaft= about 300rpm at the shaft..

She did "strangle" when I tried her on the 1000 rpm shaft, at a dead tickover, the old girl is getting a bit tired I fear.

but perhaps the splitter is a bit loosened up she would be fit for it.

cheers
