I Can't Be The Only One?

Gollum, have these krabs been solely 'prepared' for testing this variable (thrown about a tree) or have they been subject to all the usual stresses aswell? Have they been compared to same counterparts that haven't been thrown about a tree?

Thanks, Dee.

All the used crabs tested failed LOLER inspection, so all natural damage.

some of them were from contractors that do a lot of street trees,

showing the obvious signs of being dragged along the the hard road/pavement.

Do you have any pics of crabs that fail the LOLER tests?

And pics of the destroyed crabs?

Just interested to see what damage they have.

Easily achievable how?

All of my tests were carried out with a peak force meter.

loading the crabs as they correctly should be, loading them for 3 mins at 5 kn intervals. New crabs were used as well, all performing as they should.

I will post my full recordings later.

I see you have posted a new thread regarding old kit,

If you send it to me. I will test IT

4kn is a shocking figure that's easier to reach very scary consider the thread subject, I think we all toss karabiners from time to time to think we could reduce the integrity that much..... But it's good to know these were loler fails and something experienced arbs should fail themselves during regular inspection.

I will be in touch regarding my retired kit, I,ll also see if I can gather some other bits.

I don't ever throw karabiners around, although my cambium saver does hit the ground hard after bouncing off a few branches first! That's just down to complete lazyness though because I can't be bothered getting the throw line out. Maybe it's time I did...
