Recreational climbing North East/Northumberland

On a personal level rather than a 'Gustharts' level. Do any of you Northern boys do any recreational climbing in the North East/Northumberland. If so can you suggest any good sites?

Myself and some of the other Kirkley guys climb recreationally every wednesday afternoon . We've found some nice big beech trees in a woodland near Mitford that we are talking about going to, but at the moment we just climb some sycamores just the other side of the college perimeter (with the farmers permission).

ive got some sites around the spennymoor area, just working on getting a few more a bit further from roads and paths etc

Recreational climbing ?????? i wish - maybe when the light nights return if im lucky .

 

Phil , theres some canny beechs between in the woodland thats runs paralell to the a1 just down from the shop. (leave the milkhope centre/turn left/t junction/turn left/bit along on the left) must belong to the blagdon estates.... just seen in passing.

I've asked about those big beech trees before cos like u say there on Blagdon estate. I never really got an answer but there a funny bunch so probably be a no anyway
