i`ve got loads of regrowth on willow stumps to cut back and have been told that they use it to make charcoal, i know nothing about charcoal making so i was wondering if anyone could tell me if it would be of any use to anyone who makes it.:thumbup1:

I think that it is used for artists charcoal,little spriggy bits as opposed to large chunks,seem to remember we did it in a small enclosed tin on top of a regular burn - though the memory could be clouded there!

Small sections inside a metal tin to make drawing charcoal. Large sections in the normal kiln but like pine it does break down when moved around.

 

Worse is the bagging process where one will look like coal miners but above ground.
