Just a thought, in general as well as specific to my needs at the mo...

I'm working in Beds at the moment, and collecting a fair bit of wood as I go (I lay hedges) I have a few (hundred) metres of hedge left, including one where I need to fell 10 or so mature ash, and loads of smaller 6" to 12"-ish ones. This will hopefully leave me with a nice bit of firewood, but I live 75-odd miles away...

So, I wondered if anyone ever swaps any wood, say someone from Peterborough has a load of wood near my home in Lincs, approximately equidistant from where I am in Beds...:001_smile:

I know it may get a bit awkward swapping stuff rather than just agreeing a price, and it may not be that easy in my case anyway as there's a fair bit of short/small/awkwardly shaped stuff, but if it save two people travelling miles in opposite directions, it may be worth the hassle?:001_cool:

Does anyone swap wood at all?

If no other offers come forward I might be interested in buying it. I am in Northants, would probably need Nick to shift it and he wont be able to get his truck to my pile till Mid April at best so not the optimum solution for you.
