Does the splice on your rope fit through your rope guide?

Thats what I do but it would be nice to be able to fit it midline any way Im getting off your topic.

 

Completely agree for changeovers. However I took this into consideration when I brought it, compared it to the lockjack and decided I could live with it.

Heres Sam's splice.

 

I'm not surprised it wont go through with the shroud and also the shrink wrap on. I'd personally remove the shroud and shrink wrap(if needed) if it were mine, but obviously im not advising you to do that :sneaky2:

Or just cut the splice off and tie a not after passing the rope through the pulley.

 

Thats what I have done,works fine,I use a double fishermans as it bites the carabina nicely,& is easy to untie.:001_smile:

two ends spliced onto either side of the pinto.

 

Is it definitely the pinto rig? When I made my pulley saver I used the climbing pinto, which is slightly smaller I guess, and won't let a 22mm retrieval ball pass through. Five minutes with a rasp file, jobs a good urn.
