On-line purchasing or just window shopping

An earlier thread covered the benefits of advertising our services and skills on the internet, this got me thinking as to how much we use the net for purchasing products, skills etc.

What limits if any do you set yourselves when purchasing off the net, do you have a price limit, only buy on-line from companies that you know or do you just use the web as a showroom window to cut out the rubbish before you go and try before you buy.

I will compare online prices with shop prices before making a purchase. I do buy stuff online, if its competitive, but I also like to support my local saw shop, after all they are handy if things go wrong and you cant wait for delivery of parts. So in a nutshell, expenditure is probably 50% online and 50% local dealership.

Unless your local saw shop is good on service and knowledgeble its worth shoping online. If you know what you want and can be bothered you can save £££££'s. Alot of shops these days are just glorified garden centres in if for the huge mark-ups they put on many arb products.

Basically I shop wheres cheapest for climbing/rigging stuff and buy/haggle with my local shop on saws to match or at least get near to any online/catalogue price which they generally do.

Huge mark-ups on arb gear, these are the lowest marked up gear we sell or maybe I'm not charging enough.:laugh:

I wouldn like to say .......but i found your website (pricelist) searching google a few years back and I brought my austria duo 2 harness from you because you were offering the best price by a mile..if i remember around 40 odd quid cheaper or so than anyone else at the time!
