Fallen trees

Found this Oak had gone over this morning, should of taken a photo of the roots. Pulled up some huge pieces of stone with it that'll come in handy for walling. I'll get a pic at some point.

Thinking about getting another bigger saw cos I've only got an 18" Husky 440e at the moment and once I get down to the trunk it's not going to be man enough for it. Don't usually have stuff as big as that deal with.

And these are 3 Oak trees that came over together and took out the overhead power lines, it had been partly cut up by the electric company for them to get it off the lines but I still had a couple of hours work to finish it off.

All the brash is to burn at some point if we ever get some nice frosty weather! Got piles of the stuff all the place now, sick of looking at it.

Bang on the money Jon, trying to find a crane at midday on a Friday afternoon after 3 days of wind when they've not been able to lift and so have a backlog of work already...!

We found one, lifted it back upright, cut at the base, lifted it over the corner of the house, laid out in the front garden, processed and removed just by last light. Good fun and did my first man lift on it so a great end to a very busy, challenging and fun week.

They were the guys who came through, driver was a chap called Bruce who my boss has worked with a few times in the past.

Another company who didn't get the work said they'd have to send a rep out to look at it first and the soonest that could happen would be middle of next week!!
