Thanks for helping me out.

I am after either a petzl sequia or srt, yale spearmint double eye 60m or longer if possible, bashlin spikes, wirecore flipline and also a normal flipline possibly a hitchclimber also i would like a hitchclimber on my climbing rope also. Also i would like 2-4 karabiners and also a tool strop could you give me a price for all that kit or something similiar which would do the job for a beginner who hasnt got loads of money. I am also looking at fuel cans if you are doing them.

Please inform of any ideas you have got and if you think my climbing kit would be a very good one and would do me. If so what would you change and also any other sets that do the same job for cheaper.

Once again thanks

also, would you need a 60m rope?

i have a 45m rope with spliced eye and find it a pain sometimes when redirecting all that rope so the tail end has a smooth exit line!

just a thought thats all, all the other stuff you mention seems ok for a basic kit:biggrin:

Would you go for a double eye or just a single?? also is the sequia or srt designed for the footlocking method because i was speaking to a tree surgeon today and he said a one of thos petzl harness are designed for footlocking. If you can think of any other alternatives to the kit please let me know as i am only looking for a basic kit to get started and then buy a better pieces as i have got more money.

only splice one end in my opinion and yes the sequoia srt has an extra supporting body attachment for footlocking, i have the normal sequoia and never had any problems with it

make sure you get a handsaw, silky zubat or the like:biggrin:

I have got a pruning saw silky gomtaro, hi-flex, haix, husqvarna helmet, a set of stihl chainsaw gloves erm a stihl ms 170, a couple of prussiks, a few karabiners, a filing and sharpening kit for the 170 two vices, clamp and also seperate bottles for petrol and two stroke.

Dont get me wrong i can have all equipment i need when completing work but its relying on other people i would like it when i can say to some yes i will be there with all me kit and turn up without having to wait on other people. I am also looking into any secondhand saws that are available from anyone i am interested in just the power unit without the bar an chain as i can buy them seperate if need be.

Thanks again for all the help am getting its really useful.
